Solution-oriented coaching is a pragmatic method, discovered in the 80’s through the work of Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, two American psychotherapists that focuses on finding solutions rather than analyzing problems. Here are its basic principles:
Future Orientation: Rather than dwelling on the past or the causes of a problem, solution-oriented coaching focuses on the client's vision of the desired future.
Positive Goals: Clients are encouraged to frame goals in positive terms, describing what they want to achieve rather than what they are looking to avoid.
Resources & Skills: It assumes the individuals already have the resources and skills to solve their problems and achieve their goals.
Small Steps: Change is approached with small steps, identifying and performing small actions that can lead to big changes.
Solution Building: Instead of solving problems, coaching helps to build solutions based on exceptions – times when the problem is not present.
Solution-Oriented Questioning: Specific questions are used to help clients explore opportunities for change and envision their desired future.
Client Empowerment: Coaches encourage the client's autonomy, supporting them to become the main agent of their change.
Collaboration: The coach and client work together in partnership to co-create solutions tailored to the client's goals.
Constructive Feedback: Feedback is given in a constructive manner, geared towards acknowledging successes and progress towards goals.
Simplicity: The method aims to simplify the change process rather than complicate it, making solutions more accessible and achievable.
Your professional life has several seasons, each with its own challenges and opportunities. Our unique programs are designed to meet the needs of every stage of your professional life, whether you're settling into a new position, enduring the winter of professional stagnation, looking for a new job, changing careers, or hoping to reap the rewards of your labor.
When you engage in integrated professional coaching, you can expect several positive outcomes, often on a deeper and more lasting level than those achieved by more traditional coaching approaches: change in professional status, outstanding professional performance, ability to manage change, improved self-esteem, and stress management, strengthened communication skills, authentic leadership, clarification and achievement of professional and personal goals, work-life balance.
During the coaching process, I give you my full attention and concentration. The coaching process is designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals through support, impactful questions, and practical tools. I will provide you with a forum to define your goals. Don't forget that I will always be by your side and that I will be committed to defending your interests.
Absolutely, this is the preferred approach because we will start by exploring your skills through a psychometric test that will emphasize your professional strengths and abilities and clarify your aspirations, we will also explore your personal values, the sabotaging elements that hinder your development, and the opportunities for improvement. All this with the aim of providing a structure to develop a strategic action plan, step by step, to facilitate the transition. Your self-confidence will be boosted by validating your choices and mentally preparing for change.
Make your coaching sessions a priority in your life. We are a team that accomplishes more together than any of us could alone.
For this to happen, you need to be prepared for each session. Our sessions are designed to get you from where you are today to where you want to go. We encourage you to provide us with your feedback. Let us know how the process works for you.
Have fun with this process and be sure to listen to your heart as much as your head. Pay attention to your intuition between coaching sessions.
Between each coaching session, you can expect several key elements that are essential for maximizing the effectiveness of the coaching process:
Practical Application: You will be encouraged to apply what you have learned or planned during the sessions. This may include specific tasks or exercises.
Personal Reflection: It is common to ask you to reflect on your experience, thoughts, and progress. This can help reinforce learning and prepare for the next session.
Concrete Goals and Actions: You work on goals or actions defined during the session. Between sessions, it is important to focus on achievable steps to move towards your goals.
Observation and Awareness: It is important to observe your behaviors, reactions, and interactions in different contexts between sessions for valuable self-awareness.
Challenges and Experimentation: Coaching can encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, experiment with new strategies, or approach problems from a different perspective.
Journaling: Journaling can be suggested to track reflections, progress, challenges, and successes, which can be helpful for discussion in subsequent sessions.
Reading and Research: Depending on needs and goals, additional reading, research, or educational resources may be recommended.
Preparation for the Next Session: It is recommended that you prepare specific questions, topics, or problems that you would like to address in the next session. Things are changing and we are here to support you in your priority (even if it has changed in the meantime)
Ongoing Support: You have access to ongoing support, such as emails or brief communications with us for advice or one-time encouragement.
